Activity

One strategy we have identified to help achieve our parish vision is

Extending welcome to new parishioners and all who come to worship

Research and experience tell us that the quality of the proclamation and homily are integral to a positive experience of liturgy. People want to engage in liturgical celebrations where they can see real, practical connections between their faith and their daily lives.

  • Read one of the scriptural or historical accounts in the handouts below and consider what connections can be made between the account and what happens when we celebrate the Mass today
  • Read and review God Speaks – We Listen
(alternatively, if you have access to the DVD Become One Body, One Spirit in Christ, view the video “Liturgy of the Word” in the section “Celebrating the Eucharist”)
  • Reflect on, and respond to how you as a Minister of the Word contribute to the culture of liturgical hospitality in our parish, making people feel welcome and helping them to live and grow in their faith?
