Presentation

Activity

One strategy we have identified to help achieve our parish vision is

Extending welcome to new parishioners and all who come to worship

Research and experience tell us people’s sense of feeling welcome at Mass is integral to a positive experience of liturgy.  People want to engage in liturgical celebrations where they feel a sense of belonging to a community.

  • Read one of the scriptural or historical accounts in the handouts below and consider what connections can be made between the account and what happens when we celebrate the Mass today
  • Read and review God Acts – We Give Thanks
(alternatively, if you have access to the DVD Become One Body, One Spirit in Christ, view the video “Liturgy of the Eucharist” in the section “Celebrating the Eucharist”)
  • Reflect on, and respond to how you as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion contribute to the community’s celebration of the Mass, especially as each member of the assembly most completely acts in communion with Christ and with one another.
